David L. Ginsberg, MD, is Clinical Professor and Vice-Chair, Clinical Affairs, Department of Psychiatry, at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, as well as Chief of the Psychiatry Service at NYU Langone Hospital in New York, New York.
Dr. Ginsberg obtained his medical degree from Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island, and completed an internship and residency in psychiatry at the New York University Medical School of Medicine in 1994. A Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, he is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as a Diplomate in Psychiatry as well as in Psychosomatic Medicine.
Dr. Ginsberg’s primary focus of interest is in the psychopharmacologic treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, particularly refractory depression and manic-depression. He also has expertise in the adverse effects of psychotropic medications, an area in which he has published extensively.
Dr. Ginsberg has served as a contributing writer, section editor, and reviewer for a number of peer reviewed psychiatric journals and has also been honored as “Teacher of the Year” in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Residency Training Program.
