I am the Research, Evaluation, and Learning Manager at Making Cents International in Washington, D.C. where she is responsible for guiding qualitative and quantitative research activities and program design, including leading implementation, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination activities. In her over ten years of research experience she has conducted studies in the U.S. and abroad on women's health, maternal and child health, family planning, gender equity, and violence against women. Her primary areas of expertise include gender equity, women’s empowerment, and gender-based violence. Prior to joining Making Cents International, Chelsea worked with the United Nations Development Programme on their Gender Equality in Public Administration (GEPA) initiative and served as a Commissioner on the City of Pittsburgh’s Gender Equity Commission under the Office of the Mayor. Chelsea obtained Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh and an MPH in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH). She continued her education at GSPH to earn her PhD in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. During her time as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh, she worked at Magee-Women's Research Institute studying the intersection of substance use, sexual and reproductive health outcomes, and intimate partner violence among pregnant and postpartum women with opioid use disorder. She is a member of the American Public Health Association, serving as Action Board Representative for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Section and Co-Chair of the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Task Force.
