Mark Oldham, MD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). He completed psychiatric residency at Boston University and fellowship training in consultation-liaison psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. After training he joined the faculty of Yale-New Haven Hospital where he directed the proactive C-L service known as the Behavioral Intervention Team. In late 2017, he transferred to URMC where serves as medical director of a proactive service known as PRIME Medicine. At URMC he has co-developed comprehensive resources on catatonia assessment and leads an interdisciplinary team of clinicians that aims to improve the care of patients with and at risk for delirium, in collaboration with the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative. He currently serves as treasurer of the American Delirium Society and deputy editor of the Journal of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
Dr. Oldham is supported by a K23 award from the National Institute on Aging to develop research expertise in the relationship between sleep/wake disturbance and cognition, including both delirium and subsequent Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
