Larry Hook, MD is Medical Director for hospital-based mental health with CentraCare in St. Cloud, Minnesota where he leads program development, programming, and clinical supervision of the multi-disciplinary consultation/liaison, emergency psychiatry, and inpatient mental health teams. His clinical areas of interest focus on consultation/liaison and emergency psychiatry, while his leadership interest focuses on innovative programming in collaborative models of psychiatry in the hospital and ambulatory settings. He speaks on the local, state, and national levels related to this work. Under his leadership, over two million dollars in grants have funded innovative projects including program models to improve rural access to integrated and collaborative mental health (US Health Resources and Service Administration) and improve models of care for patients presenting to the emergency room in acute psychiatric crisis (Helmsley Foundation.) He has an added passion for teaching learners of all levels and across disciplines and has received a number of teaching awards.
