Akhil Shenoy is an assistant professor of psychiatry and the director of transplant psychiatry at Columbia Univesity Irving Medical Center. He specializes in the psychiatric clinical care of liver transplant recipients and donors. His research focus include alcohol use disorder and other addictions in the context of alcohol related liver disease and the psychosocial outcomes of transplant. He is also interested in the psychosocial risks of organ donation and co-created the Live Donor Assessment Tool (LDAT) to help standardize the psychosocial evaluation of the live kidney and liver donor.
