Marra G. Ackerman, MD, received her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Women’s Mental Health at the Columbia University Medical Center/NYS Psychiatric Institute where she served as chief resident. She joined the NYU Department of Psychiatry in 2015 and has overseen clinical efforts in the Faculty Group Practice, House Staff and Medical Student Mental Health program, Women’s Mental Health Program, and now the Consultation-Liaison service. Dr Ackerman is a passionate educator and mentor and has collaborated with trainees on academic projects related to Women’s Mental Health and physician well-being at the ACLP and APA. She has also been a host and guest speaker on Dr Radio and interviewed by media outlets on the mental health of medical professionals and reproductive psychiatry.
