Timothy Steinhoff, MD, is a psychiatrist who sees patients in the psychosocial oncology program at the Lifespan Cancer Institute as well as inpatients at Rhode Island Hospital on the consult-liaison psychiatry service. He is on faculty at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

He earned his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, followed by an internship in internal medicine and a year of training in combined neurology/psychiatry, both at The Rhode Island Hospital/The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Steinhoff continued his professional training with a residency in psychiatry at Butler Hospital/The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, serving as chief resident. In addition, he completed fellowship training in psychosocial oncology and consult-liaison psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital/The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School. Professional interests include medical education and curriculum development, medical ethics, psycho-oncology, and medical psychiatry.
