Mladen Nisavic is a psychiatrist with the Burns/Trauma and Transplant Psychiatry Consultation Teams at MGH. In addition to his clinical practice with both consult teams, Dr. Nisavic has a strong commitment to trainee education and works closely with Harvard medical students, internal medicine and psychiatry residents, and C-L psychiatry fellows. His commitment has resulted in numerous national and local invited presentations on C-L and addiction-related topics, as well as the Stanley M. Wyman Teaching Award presented by MGH house-staff. Furthermore, Dr. Nisavic has been an member in hospital-based quality improvement projects centered at furthering care of patients with substance use disorders (including work on topics such as perioperative pain management and alcohol withdrawal recognition/treatment), and is the first author of two book chapters on treatment and diagnosis of substance use disorders.
