Assistant Professor: Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences
Loyola University Chicago: Stritch School of Medicine
Maywood, Illinois, United States
I am a fellowship trained neuropsychologist with specialized training in the area of neurorehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. Post fellowship I was afforded the opportunity to spearhead outpatient neuropsychological services for the Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation program at the University of Maryland, Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute. This included the development and directorship of a mTBI / post-concussion symptom management program. I was also actively involved in research with the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, including working on outcome assessment for a large, multi-site NIH-funded study called TRACK-TBI (Transforming Research and Clinical Knowledge in TBI) aimed at improving knowledge /guidelines for diagnosis of brain injury and informing outcomes and treatment. I moved to the Chicago area in 2016 where I accepted a faculty position (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. I have a secondary appointment in Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, where I participate in a multidisciplinary treatment program for the assessment and treatment of persistent post concussive symptoms. Since accepting this position, I have continued my clinical work as a neuropsychologist, working with adults and children with acquired and developmental conditions. I have been an invited speaker for a number of local conferences, speaking predominantly about mTBI and rehabilitation. I am also actively involved in research aimed at understanding brain injuries across the treatment spectrum, from the ICU to the community.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
