Rachel is currently a fifth-year student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. She graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training, and graduated with a Master’s in Health and Human Physiology in 2015 from the University of Iowa. Rachel’s research interested include examining the relationships between mental health and physical health. Her dissertation examines the fear avoidance model on recovery outcomes following musculoskeletal injury. Additional research has looked at the impact of disease on engagement in physical activity or sport with a goal of improving treatment outcomes and health related quality of life. During her fifth year, Rachel will be completing clinical practicum at Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital, providing psychotherapeutic services for Veterans in a complex medical setting and completing a research assistantship at Loyola University with an emphasis in neuropsychology.
