Nicholas Kontos, MD

Dr. Kontos is the Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. He received his BS in clinical psychology from Tufts University and his MD from Temple University School of medicine. After completing his residency in psychiatry at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Dr. Kontos received fellowship training in psychosomatic medicine/consultation psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since then, he has worked primarily in inpatient consultation psychiatry, as well as general outpatient and primary care psychiatry. Prior to taking on his current position, Dr. Kontos was Director of Transplantation Psychiatry at MGH. Dr. Kontos’ clinical and scholarly areas of interest include bioethics, illness behaviors, philosophy of medicine and mind, and neuropsychiatry.
