Dr. Max Lichtenstein completed psychiatry residency and chief residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Consultation Liaison Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine – Mount Sinai. He specializes in psychiatric care for those with medical illness including psycho-oncology, HIV and transplant psychiatry. Dr. Lichtenstein also has a passion for LGBTQ+ health and mental health since his time in medical school, with a special interest in removing barriers for transgender people to access quality medical and surgical care. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine – Mount Sinai in New York City where he splits his time between outpatient care for HIV+ and transgender patients.
