Dr. Miryam Yusufov received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University, with a minor in music. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Rhode Island, under the mentorship of Dr. James Prochaska. Following her pre-doctoral internship training in Clinical Psychology at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, she began a research fellowship in the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Yusufov’s research interests include behavior change mechanisms, the intersection of physical and mental health, and the adaptation of psychotherapy to medical settings, with a focus on cancer populations. Miryam is currently conducting a treatment development study of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy tailored to cancer patients at risk for substance use disorder, with plans to conduct a clinical trial of this intervention. Dr. Yusufov is currently faculty at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her clinical interests include mood disorders and substance use disorders in oncology and palliative care settings.
