Dr. Kugler earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston before completing General Psychiatry residency training at University of Texas Southwestern in Austin, TX. He then completed C-L Psychiatry fellowship training at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Currently he serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Training Director of the C-L Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin-Dell Medical School program. His clinical interests are in proactive C-L Psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, Electroconvulsive Therapy and delivery of psychotherapy in the medical hospital. Academic interests include optimizing detection and treatment of catatonia, prevention and treatment of delirium, innovation in C-L education, and understanding how systems-based interventions can improve patient care.
