As a clinical assistant professor in Pitt's department of family and community medicine, I perform medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrical consults at the Western Psychiatric Hospital. With this case in particular, I helped to coordinate peripartum care for the patient during her psychiatric hospitalizations, checking in frequently for follow-up exams, but also talking regularly with her primary psychiatric team, floor nurses at the hospital, and perinatology providers at Magee Womens Hospital.
