Dr Nehama Dresner is a board certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in Consultation-Liaison psychiatry and over 30 years experience in Perinatal Psychiatry. She is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Obstetrics Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago where she has been on faculty for over 25 years. Dr. Dresner served as the consultant to Prentice Women's Hospital where she established embedded positions for mental health professionals within sub-specialty areas of Obstetrics-Gynecology. She developed a mandatory elective for Ob-Gyn residents in CL psychiatry for which she won the Stoudemire Award in 2003. Dr. Dresner has published and spoken nationally on varied topics related to women's mental health, particularly perinatal issues. She co-authored a review article on substance use/abuse in pregnancy and lactation which received the Dorfman Award for best review article in Psychosomatics in 2016. She is the Director of Wellsprings Health Associates in Chicago, a multi-specialty mental health practice with a focus on women's health and medical psychiatry. Dr. Dresner has served on many committees within the ACLP and established the Women's Mental Health SIG over 10 years ago.
